A junior high school teacher in Edmonton has been charged with child pornography offences, after an investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team.
The investigation was launched when RCMP were told in December 2016 that someone was uploading child pornography on social media.
Later, police searched a home in Edmonton, seizing a number of electronic devices.
Marc Daigle, 26, is charged with possessing, accessing, and making available child porn.
He has been released from custody on a number of court-imposed conditions, including working somewhere where children under the age of 16 may be present.
Daigle was a teacher at St. Nicholas Catholic Junior High School and also works as a private music teacher.
He will appear in court next June 7.
