Three arrested after gun complaint leads to Strathmore school shutdown

A Strathmore school was temporarily shut down Monday after a gun complaint from a nearby parking lot.
Staff Sgt. Kevin O’Dwyer said the incident happened around 1 p.m. when police got the complaint from the lot of the Strathmore Curling Club.
“The suspect had left the area at the time, we were able to identify the suspect through witness statements,” he said, adding Crowther Memorial Junior High School, right next door, was shut down as a precaution.
“A short time later, we were able to locate the suspect and he was arrested without incident.”
The lockdown lasted about an hour and there were two other arrests related to the incident.
There were no injuries and police have not yet released the names of the suspects.
