Alberta family asking public for help finding Calgary home for ill daughter

An Alberta family is asking for the public’s help, after a rental property that accommodated their ill 10-year-old daughter fell through.

Young Shayanne Mcallum and her family are originally from Calgary.

Her Grandmother Adele explains, five years ago Shayanne had a medical emergency that forced them to re-locate.

“They found out she had pulmonary hypertension, the Calgary hospital wasn’t able to treat her, they didn’t have the team they needed so she was brought up to Edmonton where Dr. Wong was the main doctor that performed a double lung and heart transplant.”

The family moved to Edmonton so she could be treated and have been living there ever since.

Recently, they had the opportunity to move back to Calgary and set up a medical team here to support their daughter.

However, the rental property that supported Shayanne’s needs, fell through days before they planned to move in.

Adele says they need a clean rental home with no pets that’s suitable for a medical needs child.
