The force was strong at this year’s Calgary Expo

That’s a wrap on another successful year at the Calgary Comics and Entertainment Expo.

The event took over Stampede Park for four days and CityNews was there to take in the sights and sounds.

Celebs are always a big draw at the expo, and this year was no different. There were cast members from Scream, Young Guns, Letter Kenny, a handful of Star Wars guests, and Calgary’s own Todd McFarlane.

Denis Lawson played Wedge in the original Star Wars trilogy. He spoke about the limits of technology at the time when filming those X-wing battle scenes.

Artists are also at the heart of the show, including Daniel Scott Jr. from Pop Wrap Art, who uses candy wrappers as a medium.

There’s also the vendors, like Jamie Ripley from Dark Age Creations.

Next year’s Calgary Expo runs from Apr. 24 to Apr. 27. Tickets go on sale on May 30 at 11 a.m.
