9-week-old baby attacked by boy in NE Calgary: police

Police are looking for a youth suspect after a baby was allegedly assaulted in northeast Calgary last week.

Calgary police say it happened between 4:30 and 5 p.m. on June 16 when a father was pushing is 9-week-old son in a stroller along Country Village Gate NE near Coventry Hills Boulevard.

It is alleged a boy came from behind the pair on a scooter and reached out and hit the sleeping baby in the torso, and then kept riding.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 10 years old, with short blond hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt at the time.

A photo showing the baby’s stomach after the incident was provided to investigators.

Anyone with information or security footage is asked to call police at 403‑266‑1234 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
