Garmin Canada opens new headquarters in Cochrane

A big coup for Cochrane as Garmin Canada officially opened its new headquarters in the community northwest of Calgary.
Officials say it’s a testament to the rapid growth of their company and stands to significantly accelerate technological momentum in the area and beyond.
Managing director Jim Rooney says they couldn’t be more excited to invest in such a vibrant community.
“This place is a design facility for Garmin, so we have over 100 full time people here building, designing, prototyping, products we can take to market,” said Rooney.
The company plans on hosting an open house on Bow Street Common Wednesday to show off the new facility to members of the public.
