Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson back in Calgary for Jumanji sequel

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A familiar face landed in Calgary Monday night to film his new movie.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson posted a picture on Instagram of his arrival in the city.

The star says he’s here to shoot scenes for a Jumanji sequel and he reminisced about coming back to the place where it all began.

“My brain was flooded with crazy experiences here. This is the city where me having only $7 bucks in my pocket all began,” Johnson wrote. “I have a deep reverence for this town – she shook me in the best possible way.”

Before becoming a wrestler, Johnson was part of the Calgary Stampeders when he was signed in 1995. He was placed on the practice roster and then two months into the season was cut by the team.

Part of the third Jumanji movie is being filmed in Kananaskis over the next week.

Mayor Naheed Nenshi was one of many to welcome the actor back to the city.
