CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Some cold and snowy weather is coming our way just a few weeks before winter officially begins.
Areas in south-southwestern Alberta are already seeing some heavy snowfall.
Due to snow-covered roads and poor visibility, RCMP are advising against all non-essential travel on Highway 22 between Highway 520 and Highway 533, as well as Highway 533 between Highway 22 and Highway 2, near Nanton.
Starting on Tuesday across many other parts of southern Alberta including Calgary, the temperature will start dropping into the double-digit minuses, even for the daytime high and things won’t really begin bouncing back until the weekend.
Flurries will begin in the Calgary area on Tuesday and intensify through Wednesday before moving off on Thursday.
In total, close to 10 cms is possible over those three days with a lot more south of the city including Lethbridge and area.
City streets and area highways may be seeing winter driving conditions so make sure you check ahead and take it slow.
