Pittsburgh Penguins enjoy outdoor practice at NW Calgary rink

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Just one day after defeating the Calgary Flames 4-1 at the Saddledome, the Pittsburgh Penguins hit the ice at a rink on the northwest end of the city.

Penguin players could be seen occupying the Valley Ridge Outdoor Rink west of Stoney Trail and just off Highway 1.

Onlookers watched as their local rink was turned into an NHL practice before their eyes.

Pittsburgh’s Twitter account showed off aerial views of the team both working hard and having a little fun.

With the Penguins next game not until Friday and being just 3 hours up the QEII in Edmonton, as well as sitting tied for third in the Metropolitan Division, it seems some fun was in order.
