Schools close, buses cancelled due to extreme cold

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Freezing cold temperatures have forced many schools outside Calgary to shut down.

Rocky View Schools closed its doors to students Wednesday morning due to the severe weather with the exception of those taking the French LA 30 Diploma Exam.

Schools remained open for the Chinook’s Edge Division in central Alberta but all busses were cancelled.

Meanwhile, the Foothills School Division south of Calgary cancelled all bus routes but schools will remain open.

No closures or cancellations have been announced yet for the Calgary Board of Education.
