Employee at Southcentre Mall tests positive for coronavirus

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – An employee at Southcentre mall in Calgary has a presumptive case of the novel coronavirus.

In a letter sent to its tenants, management at Southcentre said the worker was last in the mall on March 13. The shop the employee worked for closed its doors on March 17.

Southcentre said the shop has been fully disinfected and staff are constantly working to clean all commonly touched surfaces and provide more hand sanitizer dispensers.

The mall remains open but has limited its hours of operation.

Management at the centre also advises all stores still open to review their pandemic and business plans in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
