CALGARY (660 NEWS) – As Calgary continues to grapple with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the city’s iconic marathon has been put on the back burner.

The marathon had been scheduled for May 31. However, in a statement posted to Facebook, race officials say they’re now coordinating with the City of Calgary and other agencies to look at a makeup date.

Registration for the marathon had previously been suspended when the coronavirus started making its mark across Canada earlier this month.
