Police assess damage after thief steals Calgary Transit shuttle

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A man in his 30’s has been arrested after stealing an empty Calgary Transit shuttle and taking it on a dangerous joyride.
Calgary Transit called police just after 6:00 p.m. Monday after the driver returned from a break to find his shuttle missing from the Lion’s Park station.
Police said the man drove dangerously, speeding through playground zones and striking parked cars in the area of the Foothills Hospital, Briar Hill, and Capitol Hill.

Officers caught the man after a short chase on foot once he abandoned the shuttle near Memorial Drive and Edmonton Trail.
Investigators are now tracking the damage done and asking any witnesses or those with damage to their property to contact them.
