Calgary man charged in murder of chef

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Police have charged a 26-year old Calgary man in the death of business owner Christophe Herblin.

Anthony Archie Michel Christian is facing a second-degree murder charge following his arrest Wednesday.

In the early morning hours of March 14, Herblin responded to an alarm at  Croque Saveurs, the French market and deli he was preparing to open in April, located on Bow Trail S.W. at 37th Street.

Police were called to search the business but found no one and cleared out the location.

Herblin remained on-site, awaiting a contractor to help secure the property. Investigators believed that’s when three people returned and the murder took place.

Christian was formally charged on Wednesday and is set to appear in court on June 8.

Police are also looking to speak with two possible witnesses. They are Fritz Chiefmoon, 27, of Calgary and Kiara Leather, 19, of Calgary. It’s believed the two may have valuable information that could help move the investigation forward.
