Stretch of Hwy. 2 near Okotoks reopens after serious crash

Highway 2 south of Calgary has reopened, hours after a serious crash that has left one person fighting for their life in hospital.
Emergency crews were called to Highway 2 near 338 Avenue, east of Okotoks, around 1:45 p.m. Thursday for a multi-vehicle collision.
Paramedics tell CityNews one person was airlifted to hospital via STARS air ambulance. A second person was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Multiple reports suggest the crash involved a fuel tanker that flipped on its side. Crews are on scene cleaning fluid that leaked onto the highway.
The southbound lanes of Highway 2 were closed at 338 Avenue for nearly 12 hours due to collision clean-up and investigation.
Alberta 511 posted to social media just after 1 a.m. Friday that the road had reopened.
There is no word what caused the crash.
