Police release photos of vehicles in homicide investigation

The investigation into the death of a 20-year-old man from Chestermere continues as Calgary police release photos of two vehicles they believe was used to transport his body. Jackie Perez reports.

CALGARY (660 NWEWS) – Police have released photos of two vehicles believed to be connected in the murder of a Chestermere man.

Shane Eric James Smith disappeared earlier this month and investigators believe he was murdered after visiting an address in the southeast.

Smith’s body has not been recovered but his vehicle was found abandoned near the bridge over the Bow River on Deerfoot Trail SE.

On Tuesday, a 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and two other offences in Smith’s death.

Police have located two vehicles they believe were used to move his body.

One is a burgundy Mercedes Benz ML55 with Alberta license plate SLPRSLD while the other is a white 2010 Crown Victoria with the license plate CFM4615.
