CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Calgary Police say one man is dead after a motorcycle crash on Stoney Trail near the Crowchild Trail exit Saturday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m. an off-duty officer reported the single-vehicle crash on northbound Stoney Trail after driving through the area.

Police say they believe speed was a factor and the traffic unit is continuing its investigation.

Emergency crews arrived on scene shortly after, and a man in his early 30’s was pronounced dead on the scene.

A portion of northbound Stoney Trail was closed for almost 6 hours.

Just before 9 p.m. Saturday the incident was cleared, and roads are now open.
