CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The much-anticipated Calgary transit app “My Fare” launched Wednesday – and it fell flat.
Riders who logged onto Apple’s App Store could not find the app available for download, causing confusion and frustration.
Calgarians took to Twitter to air their grievances, saying Calgary Transit should have warned them ahead of time. Many were forced to make an extra trip to pick up passes.
Several people are complaining @calgarytransit should've let transit riders know they would still need paper tickets/physical passes instead of counting on the app… But a few are reporting some stores didn't stock up on paper tickets, assuming transit was going digital @660NEWS

Others said this was yet another failure in the long and tumultuous road to implement the mobile ticketing system. Users also pointed out there was no low-income option.
On Twitter, Calgary Transit said the app is available to Android users who want to purchase passes on their smartphones.
#CTRiders Unfortunately, My Fare app may not be available for iOS(Apple) devices today. The App Store is working on making the app available. Please periodically check our Twitter feed for updates.
