‘No, I never ignore our First Nations:’ says Premier Jason Kenney

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – Premier Jason Kenney says he is not ignoring the calls from an Alberta First Nations group who say Kenney needs to fire his speechwriter.
The Blackfoot Confederacy who represents many southern Alberta First Nations called on the premier to get rid of Paul Bunner over articles where he called the residential school system a “bogus genocide.”
On Friday, Kenney was asked about citing the Blackfoot people and not firing Bunner.
“No, I never ignore our First Nations, I always listen respectfully, and I have a very good relationship with Chief Grier of the Piikani, Chief Fox of the Blood, the Kainai, as well as Chief Crowfoot of the Siksika,” said Kenney.
“I am very pleased to work with all of them and their communities on advancing economic opportunity.”
Kenney added that he speaks for the Alberta Government and not Paul Bunner.
