Winter storm blowing into Calgary

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – It is the first official day of winter and mother nature is about to give us a blast of snow.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the City of Calgary and much of southern Alberta.
Some areas, including west of Okotoks, Kananaskis and the Crowsnest Pass are under Winter Storm warnings.

About 10-20 centimetres of snow is expected to fall from Monday into Tuesday in Calgary.
Calgary International Airport is also bracing for the storm.
A snowfall warning is in place for Calgary. The forecasted weather may impact flights. To be prepared, please check with your airlines on flight times and leave extra time to get to the airport.

Up to 50 centimetres is possible in the foothills and mountains.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.
