Alberta estimates 2,100 new COVID-19 cases over past two days

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw released preliminary COVID-19 numbers on Saturday covering the past two days.
Hinshaw revealed the estimated data in a series of tweets.
On Christmas Eve, Alberta health officials say there were around 1,200 new cases on 17,800 laboratory tests.
On Christmas Day, there were 900 new cases reported on 14,200 tests.
In her tweets, Hinshaw also said there was a “small increase” in hospitalizations and ICU admissions over the past two days.
There was no new information on additional deaths.
The province will provide another preliminary update on Dec. 27.
