Murder charges laid in 2018 Chestermere shooting

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — RCMP have laid murder charges in a deadly shooting in Chestermere in 2018.

Richard Michael Sikora, 37, has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Dennis Lewis, 41.

Lewis was shot in his home on Nov. 26, 2018, and subsequently died in hospital.

Sikora is due to appear in court on Apr. 8.

Police say the investigation is ongoing as the RCMP believe there are still suspects that were involved in the murder.

A stolen burgundy, 2015 Ford Edge Sport is believed to have been involved in the shooting.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
