Man killed in downtown stabbing Thursday night

Calgary Police say they were called to downtown Calgary Thursday evening to find a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Calgary police are investigating after a man was found with multiple stab wounds on the west side of downtown Calgary Thursday evening.

Police were called shortly before 6:30 p.m. to an alley in the 1100 block of 8 Avenue S.W.

Upon arrival, police found one man who had been stabbed multiple times, and he was taken to Foothills hospital in life-threatening condition. At around 10 A.M. Friday morning, police announced he had died.

Police say there was a fight along the Ctrain tracks near the Downtown West-Kerby Station and the victim, who was in his 40s, was stabbed by a suspect who fled the scene on foot. There is no description of the suspect at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
