Another drop in new cases, hospitalizations and positivity rate in Alberta

EDMONTON (CityNews) — Alberta saw its positivity drop to 6.7 per cent on Saturday as the province recorded 621 new cases of COVID-19.
The new cases, which include 262 variants of concern, were on 9,500 tests over the past 24 hours.
In a series of tweets, Dr. Deena Hinshaw reported six more Albertans died as a result of the virus.
Both hospitalizations (617) and intensive care (164) numbers decreased since the last update.
An additional 54,583 new COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered in Alberta. More than 47 per cent of the population has received at last one dose of the vaccine.
There are currently 15,502 active cases in the province.
