CALGARY — Several emergency crews had to be dispatched to fight a fire in Calgary’s southeast industrial area on Tuesday.
Around 3 p.m., several people called in to 911 dispatch about a building on fire along 58 Avenue S.E., located just north of Glenmore Trail.
An employee, who made the first call to emergency services, said that one of the machines in the building had caught fire.
Upon arrival, fire crews worked to tackle the fire from inside, but quickly switched to attacking the fire from the rooftop which proved to be more efficient, allowing crews to douse the fire not long after.

Due to the extreme heat, extra resources were called in to help rotate fire crews out so they could hydrate and break from the heat before heading back in to help.
ATCO and ENMAX were both called in to make sure all facilities were cut off.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
