CALGARY – The Ship & Anchor is letting those who may have been to the popular 17 Avenue bar that they may have been exposed to COVID-19.
In a post on Instagram, the Ship says a fully-vaccinated employee tested positive after working last week.

The employee hasn’t worked since they started showing symptoms.
The post points out that while people are not required to isolate or be tested, the bar wanted to let people know anyway.
Nicola Trolez with the Ship tells 660 NEWS, they wish they would get more guidance from the province on how to handle positive cases.
“To have those numbers increase and not have any direction, really leaves me feeling vulnerable and worried about what will happen as a result,” Trolez says. “As we’ve seen many times now, shutdowns are what happen.”
Trolez is aware of many small businesses coming up with their own course of action on COVID protocols, to avoid another shutdown — and that could include vaccine passports.
“I think that every small business right now is thinking ‘OK, what can we do?'” Trolez says. “We’re not being told what we have to do, but as responsible business owners who want to avoid another shutdown at any cost, what should we be doing in the absence of direction?”
The Ship says the employee last worked last Thursday, Aug. 26 from 10a.m. until 5p.m.
The Ship also says it is strongly encouraging unvaccinated customers who were there that day to wear a mask and get tested.
