Three Calgarians facing drug, stolen property charges

CALGARY – Three people from Calgary are facing drug trafficking charges after they were pulled over southeast of Okotoks.

Mounties say they were dispatched around 8 p.m. on Saturday for reports of a suspicious vehicle in the Aldersyde industrial area.

Police found the vehicle and after speaking to the three people in it, they found out the driver was under house arrest.

One of the women in the car was wanted on several warrants from previous charges in Calgary.

The trio was taken into custody and the RCMP seized a stolen car, 1,114 grams of methamphetamine, 110 grams of cocaine, and 98 grams of fentanyl.

The 50-year-old man, the two women, both 22 years old,  have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

One of the women and the man have been charged with breach of court orders as well.

All three are due in court this week.
