CALGARY – From the East Village to Montgomery, Calgary’s Ward 7 is home to a variety of neighbourhoods that range from downtown living to infill neighbourhoods and into the suburbs.
For the first time in decades, Councillor Druh Farrell’s name will not be on the ballot.
Political scientist Lori Williams says residents will have to do some homework this election, adding, “without her in the race this time, I think people will be looking further afield.”

Farrell was first elected back in 2001 and has been an advocate for curbing urban sprawl.
