Michelle Rempel Garner is not happy with one Conservative senator after they launched a petition pushing for a review of Erin O’Toole’s leadership of the party.
Sen. Denise Batters launched the petition on Monday morning, much to the dismay of Garner.

In a Facebook Live, Garner sounded off on Batters, saying she is frustrated with the fact that this petition will overshadow the work she did to combat Justin Trudeau and his “war on the energy sector.”
2/ Prices of basic goods are out of control. We have a major labour AND unemployment crisis. Canada's deficit is out of control. There will always be differences in a party – but this…..we will never overcome the Liberals if we're in open public warfare with each other.

“I’m about to do a bunch of media on this topic and show Canadians that, as the official opposition, we’re focused on Justin Trudeau. But you know what I had to do this morning? I had to respond to your petition. Calling for a leadership review in the party,” Garner said.
She says instead of being able to stand up with her constituents on a matter she’s worked incredibly hard on, she’s going to have to deal with the petition “filling the news.”
“I’m so frustrated with this.”
“You know, we can have differences internally and caucus can have vigorous policy debates. I’m happy to do that. But this open warfare that’s happening right now … the Liberals are popping champagne to you. I’m sure that the Liberals went out and bought a case of champagne and their white chairs, Denise Batters.
4/I'm so profoundly disappointed in this. Every Canadian will be focused on this for the next month instead of anything we do in the House. I ask my colleague to withdrawal this petition, have it out in caucus instead, and for the good of Canada let us MPs get back to work.

Garner continued on to say that instead of people talking about the energy sector or the price of gas in Canada, they will be talking about the petition and the party’s “internal failures.”
“(Justin Trudeau) gets a free ride today.”
She is now calling on Batters to withdraw the petition.
