RCMP investigate suspicious death in Airdrie

Alberta RCMP are investigating a suspicious death at a home in Airdrie, north of Calgary.
Around 8 a.m. on Thursday, police were called to a business in the northeast quadrant of the city for a man who was said to be in medical distress.
During the investigation, a wellness check was also done at a home.
Police say during the wellness check, one woman was found dead inside the home. Her death has been considered suspicious.

The man was taken into custody by police in relation to the death but was taken to hospital and will remain for an “extended period.”
Police say, at this time, no other suspects are being sought.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. An autopsy on the woman is due to take place in the coming days.
