Calgary Stampede Parade makes much anticipated return for 2022

We had to hold our horses for a few years but the Calgary Stampede Parade will finally return to what Stampede-goers have come to know and love.
The Stampede Parade has been with us since the beginning, and it’s back for 2022.

Not many details are out just yet on the parade itself but expect to see the floats, horses, and marching bands you’ve come to expect.
Another thing to look forward to is the announcement of the parade marshal.
In 2017, the march was led by the chiefs of the Treaty 7 Nations and last year’s scaled-down version of the parade was led by the Katari Right Hand from the Siksika First Nation.

In the years prior we’ve seen Olympic snowboarder Mark McMorris, as well as singers Jann Arden and Paul Brandt. And in the 90s, we had actors like Sam Eliot, Leslie Neilson, and Christopher Reeve.
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the chuckwagons and Canvas auction will also be back racing in early July.
The Greatest Outdoor Show on earth gets underway on July 8.
