Rock falls onto car near Golden, B.C., kills one person

RCMP officers say a rock fell onto a vehicle by Highway 1 and killed one person near the Alberta and B.C. boundary last Friday afternoon.

A cliff in Kicking Horse Canyon

Police say the incident took place in Kicking Horse Canyon, east of Golden.

They say emergency crews, including EMS, the fire department, and highway services, worked together to get drivers out of the danger zone and prevent further injuries.

One person was taken to the Golden and District Hospital in critical condition. On Sunday, RCMP confirmed they died as a result of their injuries.
