Calgary woman shot, killed in Temple Thursday evening

Calgary police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed in the northeast community of Temple on Thursday night.

Police say they were called to the 300 block of Templeview Drive, just north of 32 Avenue, around 7:15 p.m. for reports of gunshots.

Upon arrival, they found an unconscious woman who appeared to have been shot. She was taken to Foothills Hospital in life-threatening condition where she later died.

Offers searched the area for evidence and are still looking into the circumstances surrounding her death.

An autopsy will be completed on Friday morning. This is the tenth homicide in Calgary this year.
