Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in a head-on crash in northwest Calgary that sent two people to the hospital Sunday.
Calgary police say it happened on 14 Street N.W. between Kensington Road and Memorial Drive around 2:30 a.m.
One of the vehicles, a Honda HRV, was travelling north when it crossed into the southbound lane and hit the other car, a Nissan Altima. CPS says both vehicles were seriously damaged.
The driver and passenger of the Honda were taken to Foothills Hospital — the latter suffering serious, life-threatening injures. Police say the driver of the Nissan was treated by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries.
