Calgarians struggling with the rising cost of living
Rising prices in groceries, utilities, and gasoline is a touchy subject with many Calgarians these days. For people living off of lower incomes, high costs can be even more stressful.
Local Calgary organization Momentum is hosting a webinar with services to help ease some of the pressure.

“We’re really hoping that they leave with more information than they had,” said Liz Wong, Financial Empowerment Facilitator with Momentum. “And certainly that’s going to include, maybe community resources that they didn’t know about, tips about saving money, and then we’ll also be talking about the different free financial empowerment programs.”
The webinar will be flexible based on what participants want to talk about.
When Momentum was asked about price increases that caused the most stress, the highest was groceries.

“What we’ve seen with our own participants at Momentum,” Wong said. “Even prior to these recent price increases, is that groceries are a big topic that is always on everyone’s mind.”
