It’s a chance to honour our police officers.
A beacon illumination and sunset ceremony will be held this Saturday evening at the Field of Crosses on Memorial Drive.
Some 3,000 candles will be lit to honour every sworn and civilian member of the Calgary Police Service signifying light in times of darkness.
The organization hosting the event, Beacons of Hope, was created to celebrate the successes, contributions, and impact that the service has on the city.
