A handful of Calgary communities and highways to have mobile traffic photo radars in June

Calgary Police Service has announced mobile photo radars will be set up on Crowchild Trail, Glenmore Trail, Deerfoot Trail, Macleod Trail, Sarcee Trail, and Stoney Trail throughout June.

The mobile photo radars will be set up in multiple neighbourhoods, the full list can be found on the City of Calgary website.

Apart from these, there will be 58 intersection safety camera (ISC) locations throughout the city.

These cameras can photograph vehicles entering intersections during all phases of traffic signals, including if you run through a red light.

Police say the cameras help to reduce collisions and allow for a safer driving environment at intersections.

Typically, speeds in excess of 50 km per hour over the speed limit result in the driver most likely showing up to traffic court, according to the City of Calgary.
