UCP announces dates and locations for leadership debates

The United Conservative Party (UCP) has announced the dates for its official leadership debates.
The party will host a debate in Medicine Hat on July 27 and in Edmonton on August 30.
“We’re scheduling the first debate a week after the application deadline and the second debate just days before ballots go in the mail,” said David Price, Chair of the Leadership Election Committee. “We’re excited to showcase a diverse field of candidates who are running to be the next Premier of Alberta.”

The debate in Medicine Hat will be held at the HALO Hanger from 5 to 7 p.m, while the Edmonton debate will be at the Maclab Theatre from 6 to 8 p.m.
The UCP said in a statement that a limited amount of tickets will be available.
“The party (is) also announcing that the election night event with the results will take place in Calgary at the BMO Centre on Wednesday October 6,” they added.
The debates will also be live-streamed on the party’s website.
