One dead, another in life-threatening condition after southwest Calgary shooting

One woman is dead and a man is fighting for his life in hospital after a Thursday morning shooting in the southwest community of Evergreen.

Officers say it happened just before 8:30 a.m. near Everwoods Court SW, and are telling people to avoid the area.

Officers say they were called to the area for reports of two people in medical distress, and found a man and a woman in a parked car. Both had been shot.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. You can also leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
