Major multi-vehicle crash in northeast Calgary, driver flees in hit-and-run

EMS says four people were taken to hospital after a serious three-vehicle collision just after 1:30 a.m. Friday, and one of the drivers fled the scene in a hit-and-run.

The crash happened at 16 Avenue NE and Edmonton Trail.

A grey Dodge Charger was travelling eastbound along 16 Avenue before travelling through a red light and crashing into a black Dodge Charger and a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Police say that the driver of the grey Dodge Charger ran from the scene and didn’t return.

Four people have been sent to hospital, with the driver and the passengers of the black Dodge Charger all in serious condition. CityNews got reports from EMS that say two men in their 20s are in life threatening condition.

Police are calling this a hit-and-run, and say the suspect is a man around 6′ tall, with a slim build and wearing a grey jacket and dark pants.

Roads in the area were closed for several hours as police investigated. The scene of the crash has since been cleared
