Man charged for murder in Evergreen shooting

A man from Sherwood Park has been arrested and charged on Thursday for a homicide in Calgary.
A woman, Nakita Baron, was found dead at around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 18, near Everwoods Court SW in the community of Evergreen, police say.
She was in a parked car with a man who was sent to hospital in life-threatening condition. He remains in stable condition.
Police say the suspect walked up to a car in a driveway and shot at it before driving away in a black Mitsubishi Eclipse SUV.

Michael Tyrel Arnold, 34, was arrested on Aug. 25, in relation to the fatal shooting.
Calgary police have charged Arnold with first-degree murder and attempted murder for the crime.
“Our Homicide Unit conducted a thorough investigation to find answers in what was a brazen act of violence that occurred in broad daylight,” said S Sgt. Sean Gregson with Calgary police.
Arnold is set to appear in court on Sept. 26.
