Calgary teen arrested after armed robberies

A teen has been arrested in Calgary in connection with a pair of convenience store robberies in the northwest.

Police were called to two Circle K locations in the Silver Springs area between midnight and 1 a.m. on Aug. 14.

In each instance, police say that a few people approached the register, pulled out handguns, and stole what CPS describes as an unknown amount of cash and cigarettes before running away.

They believe that four teens, ranging between 16 and 18 years old, were involved in both incidents.

Police say evidence found at the scene led to the arrest of a 16-year-old on Aug. 25.

The teen has been charged with multiple counts, including robbery and wearing a disguise to commit an indictable offense.

Police say they are still looking for other suspects. Investigators say they were seen wearing black hoodies, black pants, and white runners on the night of the robberies.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
