The windy weather that tore through Calgary on Friday disrupted train service on parts of Calgary’s Red Line.
There was no CTrain service between 39 Avenue and Anderson stations due to a power issue that began in the early afternoon. Service has since returned as of Saturday morning.
Shuttle buses ran between the two stations. Calgary Transit says additional buses were deployed for the afternoon rush.
Transit also said a shuttle train was deployed between the stations, in addition to the buses. The shuttle train travelled between 39 Avenue and Anderson to get people to the stations in between.
Crews worked to restore power, and delays continued through the rest of Friday.
High winds earlier in the afternoon damaged a crossing arm at 162 Avenue SW, forcing trains to share a single track between Shawnessy and Somerset–Bridlewood. That issue has since been resolved.
