Calgary police issue Canada-wide warrant after shooting in July

A man is wanted Canada-wide by Calgary police for a shooting that happened in July.
Officers say the shooting took place on Macleod Trail SE and 10 Avenue on July 12 at 2 a.m., where witnesses tell them someone shot at a blue car travelling north on Macleod.
Police say the suspect is 28-year-old Abdullah Amer, and he is wanted for several charges related to firearms use, possession of firearms, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
They also seek the person in the blue car, adding that they don’t know if the car was the intended target.

“When we’re dealing with gun violence, we ask the community to provide as much information as they can,” said acting S. Sgt. Roland Stewart with Calgary police.
“In general, these types of perpetrators are dangerous people that don’t respect the welfare of the community, and we’re working hard to reduce the violence that they bring to the streets of Calgary.”
Police say Amer is 5’9″, 194 lbs, with short black hair, and a black beard.
They add that the suspect is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
