Calgary stabbing suspect sought by police

Calgary Police are out with these photos of a suspect in a stabbing in the city, from a couple of weeks ago.

Calgary police are asking for help identifying a man suspected of stabbing a woman multiple times in the downtown commercial district weeks ago.

Investigators say it happened Thursday, Sept. 22, when a man and a woman got into “an altercation” in an alley near the intersection of 5 Street SW and 5 Avenue SW.

The man stabbed the woman several times. She ran to a Good Samaritan for help, who called emergency crews to the area. She was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

Officers say they have been following numerous leads to try and figure out who the man is, but have had no luck.

They add the man and the woman were known to each other, however, the woman does not know his identity.

He is described as approximately 5’10” tall, with a medium build, and dark hair. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a green parka with a fur-lined hood, blue jeans, and brown shoes.
