Alberta Premier Danielle Smith reacts to deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland on her latest comments about cutting bills, such as streaming services, to face inflation.
Smith took to Twitter to say “Unreal,” shedding light on other matters Freeland could use to battle inflation.
“Instead of pausing the carbon tax, or stopping the money printing, or promoting affordable energy, The Liberal-NDP coalition is telling moms they can solve the rising inflation by cutting Disney+,” Smith tweeted.
“Government is working hard on a real inflation relief package for Albertans: details coming soon.”

Meanwhile, people on Twitter have had a divided reaction between people approving of Freeland’s tips, and others criticizing.
“I actually approve of Chrystia Freeland encouraging Canadians to unsubscribe from Disney+. I’m sorry, but this is responsible leadership,” according to a comment on Twitter.

“Millionaire Chrystia Freeland, who lives in one of Toronto’s most coveted neighborhoods, and lives an expense-paid life on the public dime, instructs Canadian women how to tighten their belts,” read another comment on Twitter.

The backlash comes after Freeland announced she’s cutting her own personal Disney+ subscription to lower her household bills.
“Every mother in Canada is doing that!” said Freeland.
