Shooting in Falconridge leaves one dead: Calgary police

'Armed and dangerous' suspect wanted in connection with two shootings in Calgary

Calgary police are investigating a deadly shooting in the northeast community of Falconridge.

Officers say they received reports of gunshots along Falconridge Place NE on Saturday around 7:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found one man who appeared to have been shot.

The man was declared dead at the scene.

According to police, there is evidence the suspect in the weekend shooting could be linked to another shooting that happened Friday morning in the community of Castleridge.

Police say their investigation resulted in identifying and arresting 25-year old Taylor Roan, on outstanding warrants in relation to the Friday shooting on Sunday.

Meanwhile, police say investigations for both shootings are still ongoing.

The Saturday suspect is described as having a slim build, is approximately 5’10” tall, is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, and was wearing a blue hoodie, blue bandana, black baseball cap, and was carrying a black backpack.

Officers say the suspect was spotted walking in the area. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
