Man injured in Calgary NE shooting

A man was shot after Calgary police say there were reports of gunfire in the Castleridge area in the city’s northeast Friday.

It happened at around 7 a.m. on Castleridge Close in the victim’s home.

Officers say the man was suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe that the suspect “confronted the man at his home, shot him and fled.” They allege that the vehicle the suspect took off in is stolen.

The suspect is a 20-30-year-old man, around 5’10” tall with a slim build. Police say he was wearing a blue hoodie and a black baseball cap.

CPS says the vehicle is a black Jeep Cherokee with license plate BXY0501.

Officers are asking people to not approach the suspect or vehicle if they see it and to immediately call 911.
