Calgary police charged one man on Monday in connection with two shootings — one leaving one person dead — in northwest Calgary.
Investigators believe the suspect, 25-year-old Taylor Roan, committed both shootings, the first in Castleridge on Nov. 11, and the second in Falconridge the following day.
Police arrested Roan on Sunday on outstanding warrants related to Friday’s shooting.
He is charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, and robbery with a firearm.
The first shooting happened Friday at around 7 a.m. on Castleridge Close in the victim’s home.
Police say the suspect “confronted the man at his home, shot him and fled.” Police allege that the vehicle the suspect took off in, a black Jeep Cherokee, was stolen.
As for the second shooting, police received reports of gunshots along Falconridge Place NE on Saturday around 7:30 a.m.
When they arrived, they found one man who appeared to have been shot. The man, who was identified Monday morning as 41-year-old Nathan Ward of Calgary, died on the scene.
