Stoney Trail NE reopens after major crash

The southbound lanes of Stoney Trail NE have reopened between McKnight Boulevard and 96 Avenue NE after a multi-vehicle crash saw the roads close.

Callers to CityNews report that upwards of 20 vehicles were involved in the crash.

EMS says four people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Now that Stoney Trail is open, motorists can proceed on the road.

The roads were closed for three hours, but now drivers on southbound are getting through.

Alternatives are Metis Trail, Deerfoot Trail, or 68 Street NE.

More to come.
